My name is Ahmad Fatoum and I co-maintain barebox, which:

• can produce (depending on CONFIG_BOARD_GENERIC_FIT) an extra barebox.fit image during build that contains a relocatable barebox and device trees for all enabled boards within an architecture. This makes it easier to chainload from an already installed bootloader.
• consumes FIT as virtually all security sensitive deployments with barebox (outside x86 with EFI) are using signed FIT images.

I am subscribed here to get notified on new changes, even though we are content with the implemented subset so far and will probably not pull in much additional complexity. Honestly, I am looking forward to the recent dm-verity support in barebox maturing to have an alternative to FIT in secure boot systems, but nevertheless FIT support is essential from a project point-of-view.
