New poll type: Find consensus via available time

I was recently invited to give feedback about my availability with Lettuce Meet which has a new and intuitive way to get feedback. Instead of voting on slots the organizer selects some dates and time intervals. The participants then select the intervals in which they are available. The result is displayed in shaded layers were those time intervals colored in darker shades were more participants are available. If they're a lot of date option this kind of interface is much quicker than the traditional doodle inspired one.

Nice variant to get a meeting consensus. The way to the consensus is more 'natural', but I had some understanding problems at first sight. But the issue here is just an UX issue. I will keep it in the backlog and think about it

I'm not sure if I get this correct, but is this simply another way to display the results? 🙈

It's another way to get a consensus. The owner schedules a new meeting and marks his available times, instead of selecting individual schedules. Every participant does the same and as a result you get the best overlapping available times, where a schedule can be chosen from.

I would recommend to try it. There's one fundamental difference: in the traditional Doodle-like UI the organizert selects a few time slots or starting times. This usually works fine if they're not so many option, like three alternatives: Monday at 8 pm; Thursday at 6pm and Thursday at 8pm; but it quickly becomes troublesome if you have many dates with many starting times, because you have a lot of buttons you have to click. It becomes even more difficult if the length of the meeting is not fixed. Let's say you want to maximize the time for one meeting or activity and think 6 hours would be ideal, but you fear that some participants are only free for three or four hours you would't have to create a lot of options to choose from. With this new kind of view you could quickly determine the intersection of free intervals form all or most participants. Give it a try; you'll see what I mean.

This would integrate really well with the Calendar system too, either integrated directly within the Calendar functionality or have some overlay that will show currently scheduled blocks on your calendar so you would not have to go back and fourth referencing it to see what times are free.
