Cleanup old branches

Look over the old branches, make PRs of those that you can to examine them. Those that can't examine them in situ and decide what to do with them.

I deleted the maint-1.2 branch because the one line bugfix it contained is already present in master in 9f6d233

I deleted maint branch because it contained two things

• bugfix introduced into master in 8e6aa05
• bugfix introduced into master in 4aaa761

I deleted the topic/generic branch as it was empty

I created a new PR #43 for the New/bing default url parameters branch as that branch had an orphaned PR and this functionality has not made it into master

Created

• Examine "jp/unit tests" branch #41
• Examine "New/bing default url parameters" branch #43
• Examine "next" branch #44

Now we just need to look through those and decide what to do with them.
