Android app: Flood of duplicated notifications

I get always a flood of duplicated notifications:

Thanks for reporting this @mr-manuel! Duplicate push notifications for the same message can happen when a flood-routed message packet reaches your node more than once (e.g. via different repeater paths) and the firmware's duplicate-packet cache has already evicted the record of the first delivery — each "new" copy then triggers a separate push tickle to the app. To confirm this (vs. an app-side notification bug) and narrow down the fix, could you share:

1. Node/setup details

• What device/board is your companion node running on, and what firmware version? (Settings screen in the app shows this)
• Is your node also acting as a repeater (repeat enabled), or purely a client?
• Roughly how large/busy is the mesh you're connected to (how many contacts/repeaters do you see adverts from)?

2. Whether it's truly the same message repeated

• In the notifications, is it the exact same message content/sender repeated, or different messages arriving close together?
• Roughly how many duplicates per message, and over what time window?

3. Node logs
Does the app have a way to view/export logs from your node (e.g. a "Logs" or "Console" screen under the device/node settings)? If so, could you export/copy the log covering the time when the duplicate notifications happened and attach it here? That would let us see whether the same message packet is being received and processed by the node more than once.

This will help us tell whether the fix belongs in the firmware's packet-dedup table (SimpleMeshTables) or in the Android app's notification handling. Thanks in advance!

I have two identical companion nodes. One connected to an Android phone and one to an iOS phone. Only the Android phone shows this behavior.

1. Node/setup details

   • Seeed Studio Wio Tracker L1 Pro, v1.17.0
   • Client only
   • Very little. 4 repeaters, 5 contacts

2. Whether it's truly the same message repeated

   • Do you see the screenshots I posted in the first post?
   • About 12 messages in the same second

3. Node logs
   I will need fresh logs, since the logs from the time it happened are already gone. Will post it as soon as possible.

Anyway I think it's more likely the Android app's notification handling, since it does not occur on iOS.
