Next phase of hop limits: Non-group text

Running RemoteTerm in Selby YO8, these are the sort of stats I'm accumulating:

Group text 46%; Request 17%; Anon request 12%; Path 9%; Ads 7%; Text message 6%; Response 5%; Ack 1%; Control, Trace, Unknown 0%.

In other words, in the very active Yorkshire region, flood ads are under control and no longer a major headache for us. There are max hop limits on those. But still around 50% of packets are non-text, and many of us are constantly retrying (having seen on MeshRank that our messages have not gone out across the mesh).

Maybe it's time to hop-limit other package types?

(And maybe rather than us change frequency and SF as some isolationists are now proposing, those who frequently, perhaps automatically, fetch telemetry might find another frequency or pay for a commercial alternative service like NetMore?)

If it is commercial, they're using MeshCore encryption cos we're decrypting it. Why would any business be interested in any of our repeaters or companions? I suppose a business could gather telemetry from their own remote sensors but MeshCore would be completely unreliable for it. I'm at a loss where the traffic is coming from other than some bot polling / mapping the mesh. 🤷‍♂️

48% seems quite reasonable and surely shouldn't cause the bottle necks In the system that are being seen by some and not all users, definitely a difficult one to pinpoint and if it can be rectified by more filtering rather than a frequency change that seems the sensible way to go. Just a query. While non text messages are at 48% what does that represent in terms of total packet bytes or actual channel occupancy?

Hopefully folk with more extensive stats and a better grasp of RemoteTerm will post their data. I know that one of the other folk at the Yorkshire hashtag channel is having an even harder time, with way more "request" type packets, and has had to drastically limit flood in order to get messages out at all.
