RTCDataChannel undefined after registerGlobals() and LivekitReactNative.setup()

What happens

After calling both registerGlobals() and LivekitReactNative.setup(), RTCDataChannel is undefined while all other WebRTC globals are correctly registered:

Setup

registerGlobals() called at module level and at app entry point (_layout.tsx).

LivekitReactNative.setup() added to AppDelegate.swift — both manually and via
custom Expo Config Plugin. Verified present in built binary via npx expo prebuild.

newArchEnabled: false set at root level in app.json.

Key observation

Only RTCDataChannel is missing. All other WebRTC globals (RTCPeerConnection, MediaStream, RTCIceCandidate) are correctly registered. Not a general registerGlobals() failure.

Question

Is there a known issue with @livekit/react-native-webrtc@144.1.0 where RTCDataChannel is not exposed as a JS global?

RTCDataChannel isn't exposed as a JS global intentionally, because it's not directly instantiable (it's only provided as a return value from RTCPeerConnection.createDataChannel). We don't have any code in the JS SDK that requires it to be registered either.

I think this might be an issue elsewhere (especially since there's no RTCDataChannel code involved with the room construction)? I tried reproing it with livekit-client@2.19.1, but I don't receive any errors. Do you have any more logs or a stack trace? It'd be helpful if you made a repro example to try.

I'm using @livekit/react-native 2.11.0, not livekit-client directly. Error occurs immediately at new Room() instantiation, before any connection.

TypeError: Cannot read property 'prototype' of undefined at new Room() ← error here
No further stack trace available (Hermes limitation).

Setup:

Could this be an iOS 26 compatibility issue with react-native-webrtc@144.1.0?

Are you able to reproduce this using our example app? Or if you're able, create a small example app that repros this issue?
