Feature Request: Get_Diagnostics

First I just wanted to say this is a spectacular MCP Server you've implemented so far, lots of awesome features that are super handy!

One pretty important part of using the LSP is the diagnostic warnings/info it provides

Currently as a workaround I am using cclsp MCP, which does expose this functionality, but its yet another tool to install in my workflows and I have to install roslyn LSP itself, so now its running twice

Whats the possibility of getting a "Get_Diagnostics" tool to this server added, which should return back the LSP Diagnostic warnings/info/suggestions back for a given file?

Definitely possible, and it would be quite easy. It actually does do diagnostics currently, but they're integrated.

My assumption was: the starting state of the project should have zero significant errors or warnings, so querying it wouldn't be useful.

After modifying code, it's very likely that errors would be introduced, and they should be handled immediately at this point, so diagnostics should be returned with the confirmation diff.

After the errors are resolved, we're back at step 1 where there's no errors worth analyzing.

So all of the tools which modify code also return any errors in the file.

I can imagine there are valid scenarios that this doesn't cover, but I haven't really run into any. Just so I can understand, when have you found yourself needing it?

Also thank you for using the server at all! I really enjoyed making it, and feel it's indispensable for working in C# now. I just want everyone to know about it!

I grant my Agents Create File access, so they'll often create an entire file from scratch when moving fast, so they can sometimes make mistakes

I also like having my "code review" agent to have diagnostics access so it can do a final sanity pass over any given PR to verify everything looks good automatically as part of its process :)
