feat: quickstart

Right now from the extendr website it is unclear how to get started. What do you do after you get to https://extendr.rs/get-started.html?

We should have a /quickstart with a simple example to get rolling with a new package!

That should be in the nav bar as well either as its own entry or the first thing under docs

At least I would prefer a forked solution, either a link to use Rust code in basic functions, e.g. showing this example from https://extendr.rs/rextendr/dev/

rust_function("fn add(a:f64, b:f64) -> f64 { a + b }")

Or showing how to setup a package with the scaffold for rextendr

On the critical side, I am not sure why rig is recommended without additional detail.

Having "Use rust-analyzer" as the last step is definitely confusing. Perhaps have it as a "Tip: for X, use this tool".

I think it should be in the get started code chunk or something like:

• install rextendr
• usethis::create_package()
• rextendr::use_extendr()
• devtools::document()
• devtools::load_all()
• hello_world()

Rust analyzer step makes sense since you need it for any IDE. Maybe that could go under intro to rust? Or like a “new to rust?”

Re: get started, there is a lot of horizontal real estate on the landing page where we could put a quick start example, even a gif of running the code. An alternative would be to add the quick start link in the nav and a link to it in the tabset $ init tab.

Re: rust analyzer, we already note in the install guide that it is optional, but also rextendr::use_extendr() technically assumes that the developer is using it.

No gif please! run example should likely be get started and have that there. and then a link out to https://extendr.rs/user-guide/complete-example.html for now?

For the horizontal realestate i think we ought to change the max-w to have 2 break points or break earlier:

maybe change hero-header min-width to 1024px?

Ok, yeah, I didn't look at that on enough screen sizes. Give me a day or two to make those changes.
