To show, e.g., the impact of summer 2024 until summer 2025 on the total amount of emails, the per year/quarter/month/week plots are a bit inconvenient as one has to compare the area under the curve. This is not very intuitive.

A much clearer comparison can be done on cumulative plots, where just the height difference of a time period immediately amounts to the contributed mails. This is easier to compare with less potential for error or misinterpretation.
