I guess because the file is now called /sys/class/power_supply/battery/battery_charging_enabled instead of /sys/class/power_supply/battery/charging_enabled

Hm, no, it doesn't recognise the states correctly at all. Did some debug logging and it is always setting enabled to 1.

i have moto z2 force with lineage os 17.1 and not working efficiency mode

I no longer have a Moto Z, Moto Z2 or Moto Z3 I am now running the Moto G Power 2020 which does not have good lineage OS support so I am not currently running Lineage OS at all.

The functionality that this re-introduced has been merged into LOS 18.1, so i think this is no longer necesary
