Questions About Security on E-Readers, Untrusted Clients, and Cryptee Apps Isolation #240

Hi Cryptee team! 👋

First off, thank you for creating such a well-designed platform. I have some security-related questions about Cryptee because I want to better understand when and where it is appropriate to use it (or not)

  1. I noticed that Cryptee supports e-readers. Since these devices often have older hardware, limited processing power, and outdated operating systems or browsers, how secure is it to use Cryptee on them? If I open Cryptee Documents on an e-reader, could this impact the overall security of my Cryptee account?

  2. Since I often use shared or public computers, I was also wondering how secure it is to use Cryptee in such environments. How does Cryptee manage security when accessed on potentially untrustworthy devices (e.g., a shared or public PC)? Does the encryption mechanism still ensure security in Cryptee even if the client device might be compromised? What happens when a session ends?

  3. How isolated are Cryptee Photos from Cryptee Documents? If I access one of these apps on a computer, could it compromise the security of the other?

I’m asking these questions because I want to know how to safely use Cryptee and when it might not be suitable. Thanks so much for your help and for building such a great platform!
