Feature Request: Show first print window but skip second Windows save dialog (Issue with the active Primary Printer Profile) #193

Hello Andrew,

Thank you for your great work on clawPDF! It is an amazing tool.

I would like to request a small feature to improve the daily workflow, specifically when configuring the profile assigned as the primary printer profile. Right now, when a profile is actively assigned to the printer, the software only allows two strict options: full automatic saving (no windows open at all) or full manual saving (both windows open).

My ideal daily workflow would be a combination of both:

  1. I print a document -> The first clawPDF window opens so I can check or change the document title.
  2. I click the "Save" button -> The PDF is saved immediately to my pre-defined folder template.
  3. The second Windows Explorer window ("Choose destination") should be completely skipped.

I tested everything in the profile and printer settings (Application Settings -> Manage Printers), but the software logic blocks this specific workflow:

  • If I use the (without Auto-Save) and assign it to the printer, clawPDF always forces the second Windows save dialog when I click "Save". It ignores the pre-defined path template under the "Save" tab.
  • If I create a custom profile with "Auto-Save" active and assign it as the printer profile (as seen in my attached screenshot), the software completely skips the first window. It saves immediately in the background without giving me a chance to change the title.

It would be fantastic if we could get a setting to keep the first window open for title changes, but skip the second Windows dialog by saving directly to the pre-defined path across all profiles.

I would be more than happy to make a voluntary donation via GitHub Sponsors to support your project as soon as this feature is implemented!

Thank you for your time and help!
Best regards
