[SUGGESTION] Best practice for core tables

Hi,
I was wondering if there is a best practice recommendation on which core tables to include in the Redis cache, or is it always individual / depending on the project size?

If so, this could be a part of the readme, or a folder

Hi @npoggenburg, I would also be interested in this, but think this is off scope for this extension which is only for cache locking. (also, I don't know if this can be really answered in general).

There is a section in the TYPO3 documentation (https://docs.typo3.org/m/typo3/reference-coreapi/main/en-us/ApiOverview/CachingFramework/FrontendsBackends/Index.html#redis-backend), but this is not really focused on performance and there is no recommendation there.

(I am not maintainer here, but I regularly contribute to official TYPO3 documenation and made some contributions to the Redis section in the docs).

Hey @npoggenburg ,

just as @sypets pointed out this extension is solely for the purpose of avoiding "locks" in a multi-head environment, where you have two or more Servers that distribute the work load for rendering TYPO3 frontend pages. If there are two simultaneaous requests to a page called /products then both servers would create a "lock" for rendering the page, where the page that takes longer to render would store the content to the caches at the very end. The extension takes care of ensuring that all frontend servers use the same "pool" of checking whether a page is being generated currently, thus, the second server can wait until the first server has finished rendering. And this extension provides a solution for doing this with a "shared pool" based on Redis instead of the file system. If the file system is shared (e.g. NFS) you could solve this differently I guess.

I assume however, your question points more towards what @sypets said, and the Official TYPO3 docs are a good starting point. And it really depends on your server infrastructure.
