Looking to contribute more to Arrow C++

Hi everyone,

I recently submitted my first PR (GH-49719) which was a small fix
for renaming the vendored date header guards. It was a simple task but I really enjoyed working through the codebase and I'm excited to keep contributing.

I'm most interested in storage, I/O and memory management. I've
been looking through cpp/src/arrow/io/ and cpp/src/arrow/dataset/ but most good first issues seem to be taken already.

Are there any areas that could use help? Happy to start with
anything small like tests, bug fixes or cleanups.

This is great, thanks for being around and willing to contribute!

Lots of good-first-issues have someone assigned but there was never a follow up PR or the PR was abandoned by the assignee. If you find one that you are interested in feel free to ping me on the issue and if it hasn't had activity and seems abandoned we can re-assign it.

Several bugs that are not marked as good first or second issue might also be a good target, they just need someone to analyze, validate the bug and possibly provide a fix. They just require investigation so feel free to grab any that you are interested in.
