Switch to Java 7+ #37
Description
Since the support for OpenJDK 1.6 will end at the end of this year, we should switch to Java 7 and encourage our users to do the same.

OpenJDK 6 EOL: December 31, 2016.
Oracle has an extended support until Dec 2018. They extended the support lifetime in the past, otherwise it would have ended Jun 2017.
