What happened?
Display: 64MB, VMSVGA, Remote+Recording disabled
The client display was set to follow the resolution of the VBOC client window client area size - thus a 1:1 match.
I was running on a laptop. The VBox client window was open on a separate flat screen with e.g. 1920x1080 or slightly higher resolution. Then i sent the laptop into suspend mode, detached it and packaged it for transport.
When waking it up again in a stand-alone setup, the native built-in display with 2560x1600 resolution was the only screen, thus the VBox client window was moved and opened on that display.
The client system font looked blocky, the resolutions was definitely not any par with the pixel metrics of the window client area. Thus some scaling seemingly hopped in.
After switching a several(!, no evident direct click effect) view modes forth and back, i suddenly was able to end the scaling mode and get a 1:1 pixel match between client content and apparent display on the host screen.
How can we reproduce this?
(see above)
Did you upload all of your necessary log files, screenshots, etc.?
