Write text does not support UTF8 characters (or at least emoji)

I was planning to use the WriteText function to be able to automatically insert emoji, but it looks like it's not supported. When doing so, the emoji do not appear and only the u from the UTF code is visible.
If you could add a way to handle such characters, that would be super helpful for chat applications :^)

It's also not possible to type characters used in other European languages, for example German öäüß or French accents éèàû.

As far as I can tell #11 is a different problem. And it looks like this is not a problem with the plug-in, the characters are already mangled in the page configuration before the plug-in gets its hands on them.
