Bulk move reservations to different sessions

Hello !

Now that you've spoiled us with the ability to move student reservations (still so grateful for this!!), I'm filing a request for a way to bulk move reservations from one room to another.

The need to arise can happen for several reasons:

• Two sessions in two rooms at the same time need to be consolidated for efficiency (e.g., in the screenshot below)
• There's a flood in one of the rooms and all reservations need to move to a different room (it has happened)
• Initially the smaller room was open (by mistake), but later, we want to move all the reservations to a bigger room
• We want to restrict students into one room but labels weren't initially setup correctly so students from that course are scattered between sessions

P.S.

For cases where we want to move everyone, it would be sufficient to just allow us to change the location for a session after it's created (rather than deleting the session, all reservations, and creating a new one). But, I understand why that feature isn't in place - students will probably not be happy if the reservation location changed

In our case at UBC, so far the two rooms we have are right beside each other so there's no need to tell students about the change (the most common case of doing this is one room is closed, and if that happens, they just go to the other one immediately adjacent). As we (hopefully) expand, I think an automatic emailed notification about their booking change would also be nice, but let's leave that as a separate feature

The tricky part of this (well, one of the tricky parts) is of course the fact that students are going to get horribly confused if suddenly they're expected to show up at a completely different location halfway across campus and/or at a different date/time. As you point out, the location issue won't happen for UBC just yet, but we're also never building features just for UBC, and the time thing could still very much impact you.

As you point out, email notifications would help solve this, but we don't have this yet. In the meantime, I think we need the UI to make it super clear that center staff must manually inform students of the change and be prepared to deal with any fallout from scheduling changes.
