Please add thinking level configuration for each model especially for other provider models, because some models do utilize thinking level/reasoning effort like Deepseek High/Max, Open AI low/medium/high/xhigh etc

Feature Request: Configurable Thinking Level / Reasoning Effort for Provider Models

Description

Currently, when utilizing alternative model providers within the Kimi Code ecosystem (e.g., OpenAI o-series, DeepSeek reasoning models), there is no native way to configure the backend thinking budget or reasoning effort.

Models handle reasoning differently—OpenAI utilizes reasoning_effort parameters (low, medium, high), while other providers use varying token limits or specific parameters to control the depth of thought. Introducing a dedicated configuration option would optimize both response quality and token efficiency.

Proposed Solution

Add a configuration parameter (e.g., thinking_level, reasoning_effort, or thinking_budget) in the configuration file (config.toml / .kimirc) or as a CLI flag.

Example CLI usage:

kimi-code chat --model deepseek-reasoner --thinking high
kimi-code config set default_reasoning_effort medium



Why this is needed:
Cost Efficiency: Running reasoning models at max capacity for simple syntax checks wastes token budgets.

Performance Tuning: Complex logic synthesis and deep debugging tasks require the model's full reasoning capabilities, which are sometimes throttled or set to a medium default by API wrappers.

Better Integration: Aligns the CLI capabilities with the native features offered by upstream provider APIs.
