Description
If this is meant to serve as an example, I would suggest adding a license that grants freedoms to use the code or parts of it in new projects. Without a specified license, the source code is effectively "All rights reserved" in most jurisdictions.
My suggestion is to choose a simple, very permissive license such as CC0 or MIT License - the former being preferable for examples in my opinion since it is professionally written and there is no mandatory copyright notice.

If it helps, I may provide a pull request if a license is agreed upon. Thank you very much for your work!
