Changes

• Low Disk Space Safety Check Changes
  • Added a configuration setting to bypass low disk space warnings Add advanced setting to compress a folder even if the remaining space is less than half of recommended #669
  • Redesigned the Compactor/Uncompactor file queue to catch low disk space issues and retry items sequentially (see below). As a result, safe free space requirements are now:
    • Compression: 2x the size of the largest file in the folder
    • Uncompression: Difference between the folder's compressed and uncompressed size, plus the size of the largest file in the folder
• Compactor Internal Rework
  • The compactor (and uncompactor) now properly catch errors related to being low on disk space, and will then re-attempt those files in sequential mode (one file compression at a time) at the end, just in case enough space had been freed up by previous files being compressed.
• Hide Tabs
  • Add option to hide Steam Library and Compression DB tabs - for those using it on work PCs. Feature Request: "SFW Mode" #671

Tweaks

• Added config option to disable hardware rendering (config-file only) CompactGUI shows blank window on Windows 10 22H2 #658
• UI Tweaks (added hover effects to library view, changed "Compress x games" to "Compress x items")
• Performance improvements in the Core library functions

Builds

• Finally remembered to create an ARM64 build. Untested as I don't have an ARM device to check it on [Suggest] Release for ARM64 binaries? #556

Installation

Binaries

CompactGUI.exe (10MB):		 Smaller size, but requires .NET 10 Runtime to be installed
CompactGUI.mono.exe (66MB):	 Fully self-contained and embeds the necessary .NET 10 libraries
CompactGUI.arm64.exe (10MB): ARM64 build, also requires .NET 10 Runtime to be installed

WinGet

winget install CompactGUI

Note

Installing from WinGet automatically installs .NET 10 if required, however it can often take a few days for new releases to become available.
