I ended up implementing this and I quite like having a shortcut to the last used app! Will tinker a bit more and submit a pull request if there's any interest. |

I've got a branch here where you can swipe right to leave an app and return to the watch face. After loading an app, you can also swipe left from the watch face to return to the last used app. |

I really like this idea. Have the main devs shown any interest in implementing this? Currently the swipe left action is completely unused which is silly... Any plans on updating your branch with the code from the latest release? |

When opening a game or app (Music, Weather, etc) swiping up closes the app and sends you back to the app list. I often find I want an app to stay open for easy access, and I'd like to return to the watch face instead.
I'd like to propose that we can "pin" an app to have it available from the watch face with a gesture:
Press and hold an app icon to "pin" it.
The "pinned" app would be accessible from the watch face with a swipe from right to left, opposite of the settings
Swiping up from the app returns to the watch face.
Other ideas:
every opened app is pinned automatically and overwrites the previously opened app.
Swiping up from an open app should return you to the Watch face, not the app list.
Perhaps make navigation more consistent by closing apps with a horizontal swipe, to go left and right from watch face to the last opened app.
