This is so old that PDF hasn't been added, which would make it much easier to move between layers. Updating would make this so much easier.

There was actually a change to remove a dependency from qmk's requirements.txt for a package which has been deprecated. While this bug report is from NixOS/nixpkgs, it does exactly describe the issue I had trying to upgrade my Framework 16's keyboard firmware. A recent BIOS update from fwupdmgr prompted me to update the kdb firmware after the BIOS finished, and I was unable to get this fork to work until I replaced appdirs in requirements.txt with platformdirs.

Took a pass at trying to implement some of the modern functionality but looks like the framework custom elements run deeper then expected and I gave up pretty quick.
