copy copy from a cdrom

if this is the project I think it is:
path not found:
\d.\a.\
when attempting to copy from cdrom. disk to disk work and floppy to disk work.
I assume this is due to the way that cdroms mount intenally as a network device. as a result I cannot copy over the back half of my custom pascal kernel sources onto a vbox hard drive.
none of my machines will boot usb it seems.
