You said LAN ranges can be used unencrypted, yet when I test it still show [ERROR] Unsupported protocol for [test]: [Plain].

I just use DNScrypt only for CNAME filtering and Resolved IP filtering as there is no linux DNS server offer this feature AFAIK

You probably mean dnscrypt-proxy.

dnscrypt-proxy's purpose is to authenticate and encrypt the DNS traffic.

If you want to use a server that doesn't support DNSCrypt yet, you can add encrypted-dns-server in front of it so it supports DNSCrypt.
