Description
What Problem Does This Solve?
Step 5 of the Pre-Workshop Setup Guide urges us to install Git before installing VS Code. What is the appropriate guidance for those of us who already have VS Code installed independent of this workshop and do not wish to reinstall it? Can we go ahead and install Git, and are there extra steps we then need to take in VS Code? Thanks for any advice.
Proposed Solution
I prosose that the Setup Guide be updated to incorporate guidance for this situation, and that this additional guidance also be posted as a comment on this issue.
Alternatives You Have Considered
I considered just installing Git and seeing what happens, but would prefer guidance before I do so. The option of removing and reinstalling VS Code is not appealing.
Are you able to help implement this?
- Yes, I can open a pull request with the change
- I can provide research, examples, or feedback but cannot write the change
- I need someone else to implement this
