Hey there everyone👋,
I have some exciting news for you: 🥳
We just hit 4K 🤩 downloads / pulls on the newest version of SSA.

And with that I wanted to give you some updates on the state of SSA and future ideas.💡

Current State

Currently the newest and stable version of SSA is v1.4.2.

We are at 10 Stars ⭐️ (Thank You! 😊).
Traffic of the github page is at about 40 Views (+20 weekends) per day aswell as around 20-30 clones daily.

The documentation page hosted on github pages is also slowly beginning to attract more visitors (~85 impressions this week).

Now I am not sure how many of those pulls are actually just bots, so maybe we could get some „✋“ reactions on this post for how many are actually currently using the image, to get a more precise amount of users.

Future Plans

Now for the upcoming release of v1.5.0 I have planned a few small features:

• Ratelimiting
• Multiple Ports
• Regex for Field Policies (only strings)
• Regex for Endpoints
• Hostnames for access control

Web Interface

Important

This is in no way an official announcement for a UI update and just to bring the idea to the table and to get some feedback. Maybe this isn‘t what users have in mind and would like to have added?
There is a discussion #143 about this in the Ideas tab.

As you may know SSA is headless, this means that it doesn‘t have any UI and can only be configured via configs and I think this was and still is the right choice for setting up docker containers as it gives the administrator more granular control over configs.

But, I would still really like to have a UI for…

• creating Message Templates (that could be used in configs) by directly using the payload
• debugging payload from requests
• monitoring traffic

In no way would this replace the yaml config files, but it should help debugging and also help the creation of new integrations. This UI could then be enabled or disabled via the config and maybe there could even be a minimal docker image that wouldn‘t include any of this UI to reduce size and remove what users might say is bloat.
