Wheelchair streaming

Hello,

I was just wondering if you thought this would be appropriate for a pretty niche problem I'm having, you see I'm quadriplegic and when I'm driving down the road in my wheelchair I can't see behind me. So what I thought I'd do is attach a Raspberry Pi with the camera to the back of my wheelchair facing backwards, then stream that video to my iPhone which is mounted next to my left hand in front of me.
That way I would have a rearview mirror of sorts.

What do you think, does that sound doable?

Hi, I would suggest that you mount a separate LCD (a small one) with HDMI input and then simply attach it to the Raspberry Pi. By adding the camera init script to the boot, it will automatically start when turned on - like a tv

Additionaly it would free up your phone for navigation or internet etc.

In your suggestion it would be hard to connect the phone and raspberry pi any other way than via an AD-HOC wifi (additional module for wifi added to raspberry pi) and this would introduce problems so it's better to stick to a simple solution with a cable

or just use a go pro camera which has a wifi hotspot and their iphone app to view the stream :)
